Group & Centre-based Activities

Group & Centre activities are programs or activities that are designed to help people with disabilities to develop their skills, socialize, and participate in the community. These activities can be recreational, educational, or therapeutic in nature, and they may be offered in a group setting or at a centre. Help provided include the following services:

  • Participating in a drama or music group

  • Attending a cooking or baking class

  • Joining a sports team or fitness group

  • Learning a new language or skill, such as painting or photography

  • Attending a support group for people with similar disabilities or experiences

  • Volunteering at a local charity or community organization

  • Participating in a cultural or religious event or celebration

  • Joining a book club or writing group

  • Taking part in a gardening or environmental group

  • Attending a recreational program, such as a movie night or game tournament
